Oscar Grimes (Oscar Ray Grimes, Jr.) was born on April 13, 1915 in Minerva, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on September 28, 1938 for the Cleveland Indians. In 1939, his rookie year, he hit .269 with 4 home runs and 56 RBI. Grimes played for the Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees and Philadelphia Athletics over the course of his 9 year career.
