Oscar Gamble (Oscar Charles Gamble) was born on December 20, 1949 in Ramer, Alabama. He made his Major League debut on August 27, 1969 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1970, his rookie year, he hit .262 with 1 home run and 19 RBI. Gamble played for the Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox, San Diego Padres and Texas Rangers over the course of his 17 year career.

Most people believe that Oscar Gamble's best season was 1977, when he slugged 31 home runs, hit for a .297 average and knocked in 83 runs.
