Ortiz visited hospital; blog got it first

Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz visited Mass. General during the recent disastrous Yankees series at Fenway Park. Apparently while doctors were intially concerned about his heart - the observed symptoms were similar - it turned out to be just stress and dehydration.
Apparently it started Friday, during the first game of the doubleheader, but Ortiz played through to Saturday, when he realized it was still getting worse and drove to the hospital. What is most amazing about this story was that it went entirely unreported through the five-game Yankee sweep, and only came out during the West Coast road trip a few days ago.
And, it was first reported by a blog. Not only was it first reported by a blog, it wasn't Deadspin, or ArmchairGM, or any other sports blog. It was first reported by Carpundit, a blog that covers "Cars, Laws, and Politics From Boston." Like any good reporter, the blogger is protecting his source, so no word on how he got the info. Presumably, an acquaintance works at the hospital, or lives near the hospital, or something.
But, David Ortiz is now fine and playing. He went 1-4 in the 6-0 shutout Boston suffered at the hands of the Seattle Mariners last night, and will be playing tonight. In fact, Ortiz never missed a game, and still leads the majors in HRs and RBIs.
