Orland Smith (Orland Francis Smith) was born on November 5, 1905 in Gorham, Nebraska. After going to high school at Brockton (MA), Smith attended Brown University. Smith made his professional debut in the NFL in 1927 with the Providence Steam Roller. He played for the Providence Steam Roller for his entire 3 year career.
