Oris Hockett

Oris Hockett (Oris Leon Hockett) was born on September 29, 1909 in Amboy, Indiana. He made his Major League debut on September 4, 1938 for the Brooklyn Dodgers. In 1942, his rookie year, he hit .250 with 7 home runs and 48 RBI. Hockett played for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 7 year career.
Most people believe that Oris Hockett's best season was 1943, when he hit for a .276 average and knocked in 51 runs.
