Open note to Braves fans


I've been on the Jarrod Saltalamacchia bandwagon for a couple years now, since I saw him rip up the Arizona Fall League a couple years ago. There's more than one Braves fan on this site who think Brian McCann is the next Johnny Bench. Well, take a look at the boxscore from today's Game 1 between Texas and Baltimore. Better yet, watch the replay if you can.

I'm here to tell you all, again,

  • There will never be another Johnny Bench, and,
  • The Braves traded the wrong guy!

Two good things came out of this though. One, Braves fans can enjoy watching a true superstar for the next year in Mark Teixeira, and two, the Braves didn't trade "Salty" to a National League team. Would have been pretty embarrassing for him to beating out McCann for the NL All-Star team for the next 12 years.
