Once a jackass, always a jackass

Once again, Ron Artest lives up to his persona and reputation. He was arrested on Monday at his home in Sacramento for suspicion of domestic violence as well as suspicion of using violence to prevent the reporting of a crime after he repeatedly shoved a woman multiple times to the ground and kept her from calling 911. A 3 year old child was at the house at the time of the incident. He was released on $50,000 bail.

The Sacramento Kings aren't waiting for a repeat offense. One and done. They are removing Artest from the team pending a full investigation.

There are two sides to every story and we don't even know nor may we ever know the full extent to how this incident came about. But ask anyone associated or affiliated with the NBA what's the first thing that comes to mind when the name "Ron Artest" comes up.

Too many adjectives and expletive deleteds for this article.

He's had a previous domestic violence charge against him in 2004 in which he hit the mother of his children. And of course we have the disgusting incident in Auburn Hills in which to this day I come near vomiting in my mouth just thinking about it. Not to mention the day in which he tried to defend his actions to kids!!! {wrote that article a while back, Check my archives}

On a personal note in which many in this website I'm sure will agree with me, it is absolutely unacceptable and disgusting for a man to hit a woman for any reason whatsoever under any circumstances. It helps feed the common stereotype given to male athletes by today's media and society in general. Women are to be treated with respect and class and not to be treated like objects and taken for granted. It pisses me off when I hear it in the 11 o clock news and most definitely when I read it on Espn.com.

But why should we be surprised anymore with the actions of Ron Artest. He marches to the beat of his own drum. Getting traded from Indiana to Sacramento and living in a new city may have changed the color of his jersey, but it obviously didn't change the content of his character.

It's a sad story with what you read or hear about Ron. I am sure he does some good things, but there has to be something going on for him that cause these problems. Sadly, he is finding himself in the level of Isiah Rider. A guy that had talent, but had personal demons that affected him. He did a great job of being a leader with the Kings when he arrived there, but now you are seeing for what he is.

Its sad? Why is it sad. I don't feel sad for a an idiot, jerk, asshole, or whatever. He makes poor choices, doesn't care about others, and is a major cancer. Why should I feel any sympathy toward a big pre-madonna. I feel sorry for children who live without a mother and a father. I feel sorry for kids with AIDS in Africa. I feel sorry for orphans. I feel sorry for single parents trying to raise multiple children on a minimum wage. I feel sorry for people who have lost loved ones to cancer. There are a lot more people in this world that we should feel sorry for than an athlete who can't live up to his potential because he only cares about himself. That's you Ron Artest.

Another sad case of a talented player who just continues to embarrass himself and his family over and over again. What's worse is that his community and family defended him when nobody else would. How could they defend him now? There are too many instances now.
