On Behalf of Ohio State: We're Sorry

Dear College Football World,
I would like to take this opportunity to ask your forgiveness for what we've done, and in the villain we've created. We know it's not solely our fault, but with hindsight being 20/20 it was our deeds that have perpetuated the problem in college football: SEC Football. There have been many things that fed the monster over the years, but it was the turning point last year in the National Championship game that fueled the fire.
This year, SEC football has been nothing but mediocre, and although the trend of calling out the self ordained best conference in football has been slow to catch on, other people have started noticing. It's fruitless to go into the accomplishments (or lack there of) of the conference on the football field, but the idea of Southern football to be the only worthwhile football to watch and play has become old and annoying in just a short year.
This all started when the "best conference in football" was locked out of the national championship game even though Auburn had gone undaunted through the gauntlet and remained undefeated. From then on, it was a snowball effect only to be culminated by Florida's destruction of Ohio State in the national championship game.
If Florida loses that game, or even wins a close contest against the heavily favored Ohio State, we don't hear the SEC blowing their own horn. We don't hear how the national championship should always go through the SEC. We don't hear about every one and two loss SEC teams still being better than 90% of the country. We don't hear about how every loss they have is a "good" loss. And most importantly we don't hear the extreme absurdity that just about any team in the SEC would go undefeated in every other conference in the country. Fearsome Alabama lost to FSU. We also would be grateful to never ever see moronic rankings like putting just about every SEC team in the top 25.
So, on behalf of The Ohio State University, as an alumni and a fan of college football, our deepest apologies go out to the rest of college football. To the PAC-10, Big 12, Big East, and even the ACC that you have to hear this instead of watching the games, and that this kind of talks dominates an otherwise exciting college football season.
Sincerely, College Football Fan
