Oklahoma's Sampson Heads for Indiana Job

I say good. I'm tired of watching him coach at OU. Can't stand the guy.

Where is Mike Davis going to end up?

I'd bet on him getting an assistant coaching job somewhere. Not that nobody would want him as a head coach, but I don't think he wants to deal with the rigors of it.

Sampson has been a better coach then recruiter at OU. To be successful at Indiana he will need to do both. Expectations will he high. Indiana still considers itself at the Duke, UNC, Uconn program level, even if no one else does.

I agree about him being a better coach than recruiter. That's why I think he'll be so successful at IU. He's had some great teams with a lot of not great talent. Indiana has a lot more basketball recruiting built in just on the basis of being Indiana than Oklahoma does. I think he'll really turn that program around.

The majority of the recruiting problem for Sampson at OU was that it is a football school. People don't go to basketball games at Oklahoma until after the Sooners are finished with football.
