Oke Smith (Okla Eugene Smith) was born on February 27, 1894 in Downing, Missouri. After going to high school at Centerville (IA), Smith attended Drake University. Smith made his professional debut in the APFA in 1920 with the Rock Island Independents. He played for the Rock Island Independents for his entire 2 year career.
