I was looking forward to going to the Ohio State men's basketball game tonight. I unfortunately got their late, traffic and parking, and saw a series of unfortunate events.
1. Ohio State was down. They were down 30-17 at one point in the first half. They did get the lead 33-32 but fel back behind 35-33 at halftime. Hope was still there though, right? Wrong.
2. They couldn't shut down the 3. The Findlay Oilers seemed to be hot at the 3 point line. For a while there it looked as if they were throwing up anything and the ball was going in. That's when they were being guarded.
3. Foul trouble. When I got to the game I was confused because Othello Hunter was not in the game. I wasn't too happy about it. Then I find out that he received 2 fouls earlier in the game. So how unhappy was I when Hunter got 2 more fouls in the beginning of the second half? Very.
4. Butler not at the point. This I didn't understand. Newcomer P.J. Hill was mostly the point guard during this game from what I saw. Why wasn't Butler leading this team? Wasn't he suppose to go back to this position after the departure of Conley?
5. Who let all those Findlay fans in? In front of the OSU band sat a big group of Findlay supporters. They must travel well. It was odd that they would sit in front of the OSU band though. Rather odd.
6. It was just awful. The Ohio State Buckeyes lost to Division II Findlay. At home. During an exhibition game. A friend of mine said who cares since it was just an exhibition game. Yes I know that it is preseason but it still speaks volumes about this team. I have no idea what kind of team this is going to be. I'm not sure they know either.
Season begins November 12th against Wisconsin Green-Bay @ 9 pm on ESPN2. Go Bucks! This game does matter. Even though you should play them all like they do.
