Offensive Rating

In basketball, Offensive Rating or Offensive Efficiency measures how many points a team scores per 100 possessions, and is a better metric to measure offense that the standard Points per Game because per-possession stats strip away the illusions of pace. Offensive Efficiency is simply calculated as:

ORtg = 100*(Points Scored / Possessions)

"Offensive Rating" can also be applied to individuals, where it's simply the number of individual points produced divided by the number of individual possessions a player uses.
