I'm sure that some of you have heard about the Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Matt Wise's injury by now... for those of you who haven't, here's the reason why he hasn't pitched...
Apparently, Matt cut himself somehow on salad tongs..... yes people you read that right - SALAD TONGS!!! Now why hasn't he pitched because of this? Well - he cut himself on the middle finger of his pitching hand. His go-to pitch, the changeup, comes off of the middle finger. Since when were salad tongs concidered a dangerous weapon?
Can you imagine the conversation in the clubhouse when Wise went to Ned Yost on why he couldn't pitch & why Yost has to revamp the bullpen for a few days.
This just adds to the list of injuries that only basball players can get.
- There's the infamous Sammy Sosa strained back on a sneeze.
- Mike Remlinger's broken bones on a recliner.
- Last years rookie sensation Clint Barmes broken collar bone when he fell carrying deer meet.
- Wasn't it Jeff Kent that broke a bone while washing his car?
I'm sure that I'm missing a few - this is just a short list off the top of my head. Why is it that it's only baseball players that do these wierd injuries? They are definately in a league of thier own!
