October Baseball - Both Ends of the Spectrum
Manny Stiles ponders... It's October - I'm in Arizona - I've got tickets to the NLCS Game 1 on Thurday and ahem... Full Media Credentials for the entire Arizona Fall League 2007 season. Uncle Manny did it again!
I'm still riding the high of enjoying a WNBA Championship, wrapping up loose ends after an awesome (seriously enjoyable) last-place season following the Rays and on top of that:
It's birthday season (when everyone I know seems to have a birthday, and mine is last so we celebrate an entire "Season") - and I'm teetering between a perpetual wash cycle of drunk and hangover... Whoopeee! ...but as Dane Cook has subconsciously mindephed me into chanting endlessly "There's only one time I really want to kill Dane Cook - It's October!"
Is anyone else waiting for Frank Caliendo to start doing the "MLB - October" commercials as Dane Cook? Just me?

It starts Tuesday with a ceremony at Scottsdale Stadium commemorating Albert Pujols' AFL career...
If you don't know what AFL is, you have been living in what I call "the past" (what the rest of you suckers call "the present") for too long. AFL is The Future! And here it is - now - in front of your eyes and my keyboard! And you will soon be Manny-ducated...
Who are the Arizona Fall Leaguers you'd want a Stiles-angled report about, who are the players you have an eye on to the future?
Obviously I'll be right up in the grill of all the Rays' future stars (I'll try not to slobber on Evan Longoria too much) and there's a couple other fascinating prospect names I want to attach beings to; get a little scouting the future in, etc...
I'll see what I can finagle out of the suggestions (I am representing the 'Chair afterall) and the rest is going to be whatever slop I decide to chuck at you to see what sticks!
I know I'll see Kelsdad at Surprise stadium on an occasion or two. If any of you other miscreants plan to hit up a few games, let me know!
