Ockie Anderson (Oscar Carl Anderson) was born on October 15, 1894 in Erie, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Central (Erie, PA), Anderson attended Colgate University. Anderson made his professional debut in the APFA in 1920 with the Buffalo All-Americans. He played in the APFA for 2 years, playing for the Buffalo All-Americans the entire time. Anderson also played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Buffalo All-Americans the entire time.
