O-Dawg out and I'm not worried

All Star Arizona Diamondbacks' second basemen Orlando "O-Dawg" Hudson will have season ending surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb. He injured his thumb and sliding into third against the San Diego Padres on Wednesday. Hudson is one of the leaders of the club vocally (try and find a bit of film not talking), age wise (he turns 30 in december) and he leads the team with his skills (he was hitting nigh .300 and plays gold glove D). Now since I am a D-Backs fan you might think that I'm worried about this and while I sure as hell am not happy about the loss it is not the worst thing that could happen (the worst thing would be if we lost manager of the year Bob Melvin) because, first off the Snakes have a very deep bench with Augie Ojeda, Alberto Callaspo and Emillio Bonifacio expected to share time at second and second O-Dawg will give the teams bench lift just because of all the enthusiasm that he has.
The main reason I'm not very worried about Hudson's injury is because I finally feel good about this team. Most of the year I have been as amazed as many of you about how well this team is doing (contradictory to what I wrote, I was just trying to put on a brave face). The reason for the amazement is because of that God damn run differential which I am very acutely aware of because when watching and listening to this team you feel like this team should be 3 or 4 games under .500. But now I am finally starting to really feel like this team can do something. When the Diamondbacks got back to back wins versus Chris Young and Jake Peavy I just thought that while their clinching number is still 20 they basically clinched it right their.
Of course as I finish writing this the Diamondbacks are down 7-4 to the St. Louis Cardinals.
