A solitary goal was all that seperated the teams in a closly contested game at a breezy Met Sports.
Both sides struggled in the conditions, with an increasingly gusting wind effecting the flight of the ball, with the defences coming out tops for both teams through out the game.
The exception and break through, came in the second half. Paul Whittenbury who came on as a 2nd half sub, smashed in a drive from the edge of the box that slammed into the cross bar and bounced down, Martin Pollard reacted first but was unable to direct his header anywhere other than back into the keepers arms. From the kick, Forest broke down the left and moved clear of our defence to slide home past Matt Ball.
With the introduction of Chris Dundon upfront, WIFC began to carve a few chances out but were unable to find the finish needed to bring things back level.
