Note To Suns Fans

Remove your hand from the panic button now. The Phoenix Suns are fine and a complete retooling is not necessary. This team is still an NBA championship caliber team and has the talent to beat both the Mavericks and the Spurs. Any fan wanting to panic and leave the bandwagon the exit is on the left. You should remember where it is because you used it back during the 1-5 start. This time though feel free to remain on the sidelines until next season. Is this team a world beater without Steve Nash? No, but they are still talented and it has given Amare a chance to prove he can carry a team if necessary. So the Suns lost to the Bulls by double digits, it was the first time in 51 games that the Suns had lost by double digits. Also this team was not only missing Steve Nash but missing their second best ball handler Boris Diaw and Raja Bell is still dealing with knee soreness.

This is a blessing in disguise. Nash gets to rest for a two week period in the middle of the season and prove that he is the lone candidate for MVP, Amare gets a chance to be “the man”, the team gets to evaluate how big of an impact Shawn Marion truly has on the offensive end of the court and they get a chance to see if Marcus Banks has anything to offer and showcase him for a trade if necessary.

The biggest thing is this gives role players a chance to step up and attempt to prove their worth for the stretch run. Coach D gets a chance to dust of the bench pieces and give them minutes deserved or not. Pat Burke is even getting time and showing some flashes of talent, in between the long uncalled for three pointers.

Fans calm down, step back from the leg and remember that to be the best you have to beat the best so being the number one seed isn’t the most important thing in the world. Get ready Suns fans because after the allstar break the Suns most likely will have Nash, Diaw and Kurt Thomas back and be full strength. The path too the NBA finals starts next week so buckle up and deal with one last game without the full strength Suns because a week from now it will be all systems go.

I said that in October... the ONLY thing that would stop us would be Nash's health... Is everyone convinced yet, he IS the MVP (again)???

Never argued that Nash's health was the key to the Suns. Ive been saying the same thing Manny, and now that he is starting to wear down a bit, I begin to worry.

I still think that Nash is not only the MVP, but the driving force on this team...However, I do believe that his injury will gives the rest of the Suns a test and some practice at playing without him. If he has any back issues at all during the playoffs and has to miss any length of time, the team will have to learn to win on their own...

I'm worried 'about Boris instead of Steve. Steve is truely important to the Suns. But you can't neglect the importance of Boris assists and driving if you remember the last shot in Western conference game one last season. So just hope both of them will get better and come back as soon as possible. so does Kurt.

Yer absolutely right, Anon... Boris is very important as well. He is a playmaker (had 16 assists in one Nash-less game last year) Amare is WAY more effective when the ballhandler can create OR dish - no knock on Barbosa, but he is a pure scorer/shooter, not a playmaker like Shave Nest or Bo Diaw.

The big issues is you need at least one of the two, Nash or Boris, on the floor because they are the best at creating off the dribble and the best at passing on the team. The crazy thing is KT, Boris and Nash all could come back on the 20th.

They are back on the bandwagon hoping no body remembers them saying this team wouldn't be that good after the 1-5 start.

Hey I'm glad we have the same view. The fans panic to easily here in AZ. They need to just take a deep breath and realize that this team isn't going to win every game and that quite frankly none of them really matter until April, May and June. If the Championship was won in the first half of the season the Suns would have as many titles as the Lakers and Celtics.

It's the Cardinal-Factor. People here expect losers... they expect the end to be painful. I wish they'd enjoy how enjoyable of a team this is! they're all fans of other teams anyway

Not a good thing for Nash, but a good thing for the Suns. Last year, fatigue was a big factor in not winning it all. D'Antoni did as good a job as he could with roster management, but a seven man rotation is tough to win with, especially in the playoffs. And with a healthy Amare' last season, the Suns would be defending NBA champs.

with a healthy Raja Bell we would have beaten Dallas last year... think Mimai would beat the Suns last year? Hell no.
