Born on March 11, 1877 in Peoria, Illinois, Norwood Gibson (Norwood Ringold Gibson) played for the Boston Americans for his entire 4 year career. Gibson broke into the bigs on April 29, 1903 with the Boston Americans, and put up a 3.19 ERA in 183.1 innings pitched in 1903, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Norwood Gibson's best season was 1904, when he posted a 2.21 ERA, won 17 games and struck out 112 batters.
