By week 17 there is a good chance that many of the top fantasy football players are not playing in their games by then. Look at how many times teams rest players as they prepare for the playoff run. Think about it, how would you feel if your playing in your Fantasy Championship, and LT decides he wants to get a week of rest since the Chargers already locked up a playoff spot and a bye.
Some teams start resting their stars even earlier if they have their spot locked up. The Colts started sitting Manning/Harrison/James in Week 15 or so last year.
In head to head leagues, the first round of the Playoffs start this week, that way the Championship game is in Week 16 when (hopefully) your stud players aren't resting for the playoffs.
Yup gotta be wrapped up by week 16 for fantasy or else you have the worlds worse championship games.
