No “FORE” is Worth 15K?

Lawsuits and athletes go hand in hand…After all don’t we all consider ourselves very long lost relatives of these fortunate ones? We tend to like to make that family tree grow & blossom (Man, wasn’t Six so hot back in the day, WHOA!) every which way possible when dealing with these unfortunate mishaps. “Unfortunate” quickly turns into Cha-Ching…Normally, it doesn’t take over two years to decide whether or not to do so, does it?
Who knew the golf course could be so expensive besides the cart and greens fees…Those are already outrageous enough. To think not yelling the word “fore” could cost former Jamal Mashburn $15,000. The USGA must’ve updated their Rule Book because nowhere in mine does it outline this. I must get an updated version then…I’m losing out on a whole boat load of money. I was under the impression if somebody doesn’t yell “fore” and the duck hook hits you, you have the right to take the driver out & skull the ball back at him? In the case of Jamal Mashburn his duck hook was a success, a bulls eye if you will…Apparently Mr. Crance was teeing off on the 17th hole when Mashburn hit a shot off the 18th hole that struck him in the eye. Come on Mash, where’s your golf etiquette here? Even when Phil Mickelson hit a stray tee-shot at Doral shattering a wrist watch as only Lefty can with his wild shot, he gave the poor sob two Ben’s for a watch likely bought at Wal-Mart.
Mr. Koltun said his client suffered serious injuries after the incident. "He’s permanently lost vision in one eye because of a detached retina. While losing one’s sight is no laughing matter, but how come it took so long to file this lawsuit….hmm? Does it really take someone about two years to figure out if the can’t see? I don’t know about you, but if I can’t see I usually know right away. Although if this ludicrousness is in fact true, why the waiting period? More importantly why only seek in an excess of $15,000 in damages? Lets see, Jamal Mashburn, (NBA player at the time) just lambasted me in my eyeball with an errant golf shot causing me to “permanently to lose my vision in one eye because of a detached retina," only has to pay 15 large. No sir, if that was me & if this indeed did happen….$15,000 wouldn’t even cover lawyer’s expenses. Go out for a nice round of golf, doing my best to try to impersonate a PGAer…Only to not be able to see the rest of my ******** life…Good to “SEE” a good time was had by all. (I know bad joke).
I just wonder, I had a golf ball fly through my bedroom window a few years back which woke me up from a sound sleep on a Saturday morning. Perhaps, I might still be able to sue for damages lost? I mean the broken window is worth something, in addition to the hours of weekend sleep I lost due to some moron who thought a golf ball had the ability to bounce off glass…Guess he didn’t pay attention too much in science class? To think he didn’t even have the common courtesy to yell “fore” either!
