Nick Etten

Nick Etten (Nicholas Raymond Thomas Etten) was born on September 19, 1913 in Spring Grove, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on September 8, 1938 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1939, his rookie year, he hit .252 with 3 home runs and 29 RBI. Etten played for the Philadelphia Athletics, Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees over the course of his 9 year career.
Most people believe that Nick Etten's best season was 1944, when he slugged 22 home runs, hit for a .293 average and knocked in 91 runs.
