Born on May 19, 1879 in Oatlands, Virginia, Nick Carter (Conrad Powell Carter) played for the Philadelphia Athletics for his entire 1 year career. Carter broke into the bigs on April 14, 1908 with the Philadelphia Athletics, and put up a 2.97 ERA in 60.2 innings pitched in 1908, his rookie year.
