Born on March 27, 1915 in Logan, Utah, Newt Kimball (Newell W. Kimball) played for the Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, Brooklyn Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 6 year career. Kimball broke into the bigs on May 7, 1937 with the Chicago Cubs, and put up a 3.63 ERA in 52 innings pitched in 1941, his rookie year.
