Newsflash - Baseball is BASEBALL, not MLB

"Hi, I'm new, your site stinks." Not the way I would introduce myself, but different strokes for different folks. Everybody on this site does what they want to do. What you feel the site is lacking is only due to no one wanting to write about it so far. You start putting it out there and you might get some helpers.

I could be wrong, but weren't a lot of the minor leaguers using roids too? Kinda defeats "You want to see roid ball, watch MLB." doesn't it?

How do you compare a minor league GM to a major league GM? They are completely different jobs with different job descriptions. Also, weren't most of the players who failed drug tests two years ago from the minor leagues?

lol my question is this...when those guys from AAA and AA get called to the bigs, are they automatically classified as roid ballers by this guy? Then we have to resort to saying yeah, that 10-12 year old league over on Staten Island, THAT'S real ball, none of this roid ball bullshit.

The fact of the matter is that if you want to watch "roid ball" flip on a minor league game. The common belief is that most players who use steroids are big name guys, on the contrary; most steroid users are fringe players who need every possible advantage to compete for a roster spot, just look at the where the players that have been suspended are coming from. Before you post something like that, make sure you know what you are talking about.

I use "MLB" when referring to "the Bigs", "the Show" or "the CoffeeHouse". I say baseball when referring to the game being played. I played baseball. I did not play MLB...

If you want to see "REAL" baseball, watch college baseball. Unlike the minors, these guys ALL get tested (even though people get around it). More importantly though, they are not playing for money (not supposed to be atleast), but playing for the love of the game!

This is a site with a take right? You don't like it? Go hang out on Gather and pick daisies. As to you minor league illiterati who don't know WHY it is that a few guys get hacked for 'roids in the minors... WE HAVE A REAL DRUG POLICY. They get caught, they don't go through all of the Major League first second and third tries. They get mandatory counseling once, then they get kicked out of the game for subsequents. Usually (See: http://mlnsp...uspects.html ) they pick some dim bulb and prop them up with roids that they couldn't afford in a million years then nail their untalented rear-ends to show that they're doing something. Show me one guy at the top of any of these piles that baseball catches. You want a real drug policy? Send the trainers to jail for administering it, and drop a roster position on the 40 man for every player that tests positive. A club loses five or six reserve players into the fall, and they will police the problem. As to the guy who thinks I'm ragging on the site, WRRRONG. This is a cool place. Y'all just need to learn to broaden your horizons a bit.

You're right, this is a cool place. The only disparaging remarks about this site were from you. The negative response above is an example of how this site works. Someone (you) has a take, other users (me) respond. In my opinion, and it seems as though some agree with me, that your pro-MiLB/anti-MLB bias is fraught with contradictions and erroneous comparisons (GMs). Further diminishing your credibility is the remark about Piazza hitting homers in LA in the '80's on your profile. Typo? Fair enough. But if it is you who cannot handle the feedback and criticism, then I suggest that it is you who needs to go elsewhere.
