The Montreal Alouettes re-acquired defensive tackle Adriano Belli from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in exchange for defensive tackle Clinton Wayne and linebacker Phillip Gauthier. All of the players are non-import players.

"With this trade, we've acquired two good, young Canadian players that can contribute this season and in the future," said Hamilton head coach Ron Lancaster. "We wish Adriano all the best as he returns to Montreal."

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers released quarterback Mike Quinn on Monday. Quinn started the last two games for the Bombers, but 'the final straw' was the interception pass in the final minutes of Friday's game. The Bombers were in field goal range at the time and were down by three points. In his two starts, Quinn was 33 of 62 passing for 355 yards and three touchdowns. He was intercepted five times. The Bombers also released receiver Scotty Anderson. Anderson has caught just two passes for 20 yards this season.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats cleaned their offensive house on Monday. The Tabbies fired offensive co-ordinator Joe Paopao and offensive line coach Kani Kauahi. The Tabbies have been unable to score a touchdown for the last three games. In these games, the Cats have been outscored 100 to 10.

The Edmonton Eskimos called back Donald Brady, nearly two months after cutting him. The punishing defensive back returns to a team that needs some kind of lift, if they plan to keep their streak alive. The Esks have made the playoffs for the last 34 years, the longest playoff streak in North American professional sports.
