New York Yankees, You've Been Made a Bor-Ass

With the A-Rod deal just about in the books, I must applaud A-Rod and Boras for putting on one hell of a show. They manipulated the entire league and people still don't realize it. From Day 1 they been playing everyone, from the World Series announcement to the getting the deal they essentially wanted to begin with.
When he opted out, I could care less because the Sox was about to win the World Series, thats all I cared about. New York fans were heartbroken because A-Rod claimed to want to remain a Yankee, and the Yankees stated they wouldn't take him back if he opted out. So everyone thought A-Rod was leaving, I didnt buy it. He asked for WAY too much to begin with which means he was planning on taking a "discount" of 270-300 million. It was like a brief breakup, sure you check out other options but you know you're getting back with her, and A-Rod flirted with the Sox, Mariners, Dodgers to get the Yankees jealous, but he knew he was going back all along unless he got an unheard of deal, but thanks to the World Series announcement and the price tag, he knew no one would bite.
Phase 2 was getting back with the Yanks, now Cashman said A-Rod was no longer welcome once he opted out, just like a girlfriend would say the same thing. He "ditched" Boras and took a "discount" to show that he "changed", and the Yankees bought it.
Now if you truly believe Boras was in the dark about this whole thing, you are naive. Agents represent you, they get you the deals you ask for, if A-Rod really was ditching Boras he would've fired him. You don't see people getting plea deals without their lawyer, if they don't trust the lawyer they fire them, simple. He knew that if Boras went to Cashman asking for 275 mill, the Yankees would look superior, if he asked for it and made Boras look like the bad guy then the Yankees would accept feeling that A-Rod wasnt in the wrong. Not only that but if A-Rod is going to be there for the rest of his career, he doesn't want to be the guy that left and came crawling back. He wants to be the guy that took a home team discount, which is exactly what he did.
Boras set this up, not Brian Cashman, not Hank Steinbrenner, and definitely not Warren Buffett. Congratulations, New York Yankees you just got Bor-assed. You went back on your word and took him back. Not only are you paying him the same as you would if you extended him but now the Texas Rangers don't owe you a dime. Bravo....Bravo...imbeciles. Go Sox
