New York Times: Chasing Aaron’s Record, With or Without Selig

by Salmanpour

Barry Bonds hit two home runs — No. 752 and No. 753 — on Thursday. With two more big swings, Bonds, a controversial figure who is suspected of steroid use, can match Hank Aaron’s career record of 755.

Starting tonight, the Giants will begin a three-game series against the Brewers at Miller Park in Milwaukee — the hometown of Commissioner Bud Selig. Selig, who closely followed Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa during their record-breaking season, has declined to say whether he will be in attendance.

Is it important for Selig to be there when Bonds breaks the record?
