if an organizational tree falls flat on it's face in the playoffs, does it make a sound? I guess we find out soon...

Let's try and do it for all 30 teams...then we can create a page called MLB Organizational Tree and put a link to all 30 pages there...I think that would be a great source of unique information that we could publicize throughout the internet. So far we have this and the Orioles, Pirates, and Rockies (couretsy of BBall3345).

wasn't me giving the -, but that sounds like alot of work, keeping these updated...for instance, by tomorrow, Shawn Green could be a New York Met...he waived his no trade clause... hmm.

I would do the Indians if it wasn't for their roster changing every day. I don't even bother to form opinions about the team anymore because whenever I do, it becomes irrelevant the next day.

Anyway, Im going to the Atlanta Braves next. If you want to join in, announce which teams you plan on doing here, so that way noone duplicates.

Roblefko you appear to be a - magnet. The thing is, come November, you'll all be going around frantically changing them. Great idea though.

I meant November for the end of the season. Since the trade deadline has passed, it's unlikely there will be much MLB going on (in terms of roster changing).

Rosters expand on Sept 1, so waiver deals aren't all done yet. PLUS, guys can still get released and picked up by other teams AFTER Sept 1st. For a sport with a trading deadline, the trades and roster maneuvers never stop (except during the playoffs)

It'll be pretty huge. With the age of that team, the length of the trades will take up a lot of room.

Roblefko, nice job and glad to see I'm getting a little help with these things. I definitely think this is something we should make a page for and update it weekly/monthly.

Its not as hard as you think to update. If a guy gets traded, you just insert the new guy into column 1 and move over the guy that was just traded into Root..If a guy gets released, you just erase his row. If they sign a free agent draft, you just create a new row..its something that cna easily be updated every 2 weeks or so.

Not to be a smartypants, you'll have to do it twice (when someone gets traded, there's a 'to' and 'from' team)

Now if we made each transaction clickable (at least to a stub for that trade, signing, or draft), we could initiate comments etc. on all the transactions in sports history
