Pedro wasn't great, but he didn't have to be as the New York Mets routed the D-Backs 15-2. He went 5 innings, allowing 5 hits including a leadoff homerun to Johnny Estrada in the 5th, for his first win since April 28th.
The Mets got started early, getting 3 runs in the first off of Arizona starter Russ Ortiz. The damaging blows came in the fourth inning, after Ortiz walked Reyes and Chavez back to back, consecutive doubles by Beltran, Delgado, and David Wright put the game out of reach at 7-0.
They added 6 runs in the fifth to turn the game into a 13-0 joke.
Key defensive play of the game was in the first inning, with runners on the corners, Craig Counsell was trying to score on a flyout, but Endy Chavez made a perfect throw to Castro at the plate to cut him down.
With an off day tomorrow, the Mets go flying into Philly, 6-1 on their current road trip
