Nelson Peterson (Nelson Lane Peterson) was born on September 22, 1913 in Weston, West Virginia. After going to high school at Weston (WV), Peterson attended West Virginia Wesleyan College. Peterson made his professional debut in the NFL in 1937 with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Cleveland Rams and Washington Redskins over the course of his 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1938 was Nelson Peterson's best year.
