Born on March 25, 1933 in Harrisonburg, Virginia, Nelson Chittum (Nelson Boyd Chittum) played for the St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 3 year career. Chittum broke into the bigs on August 17, 1958 with the St. Louis Cardinals.
