Neal Ball (Cornelius Ball) was born on April 22, 1881 in Grand Haven, Michigan. He made his Major League debut on September 12, 1907 for the New York Highlanders. In 1908, his rookie year, he hit .247 with 0 home runs and 38 RBI. Ball played for the New York Highlanders, Cleveland Naps and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 7 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Neal Ball's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1911, when he hit for a .296 average. However, others believe that it was 1908, when he stole 32 bases.
