Nate the Great...

What to do with WR Nate Washington? I have always liked the guy from day 1. I've always pushed for him to get more playing time. Last year he finally got it. But then he became Mr. Butterfingers. Things got better at the end of the season last year and he seemed to improve. It appeared as if he had conquered his problem with his hands. However, that was wishful thinking.

Last Sunday night againist the Saints, Washington had 2 more drops.

I don't mean to be rude, but this crap has to stop or he'll have to sit. In football one play can make or break a game or even a season. Most of the time players don't get 3rd and 4th chances. Washington himself claims that he's been 'lackadaisical' ; he hasn't been focused enough. Well Nate, you better get your game face on before you're out of a job. It's now or never buddy. Everybody loves you, except your drops. It's killer watching a ball go sailing in and out of your fingers.

We've got too much talent at WR to let this pattern continue. He's a great story out of little Tiffin, but football is about winning games.

The Steelers are littered with dropsy WR's once you pass Hines Ward.

The problem is, that after Ward, you have Santonio Holmes, who also seemed to have butter fingers and took some wicked shots last year, then Washington, and Cedrick Wilson. None of them are big, and none of them have had more than 47 catches in any year of their careers combined. The Steelers need one of them to step up to be a competent #2 WR. Ward is 31, his production has dropped steadily since his 2002 season, and 10 years of hits going over the middle are taking their toll.
