Day 1 of the NHL Playoffs. The Stars and the Canucks took four overtimes to sort out a Game 1 winner, in the sixth longest game in NHL History. All four home sides won on the opening day.

Game 2 of NHL playoff series are more important than game 1. Many who win game 1 do not win the series, but those who win game 2 likely will. Strange stat right there.
