NFL on CBS: The Best and Worst Analysts

The one thing I hate about CBS football coverage is their awful analysts. Their pre game coverage in spite of Shannon Sharpe destroying the English language, is better than Fox though. Let's have some fun ranking the best and worst NFL analysts shall we?

  1. Randy Cross. He and Dick Enberg work very well, and real life Randy is much better than the virtual one on NFL Quarterback Club. Isn't biased, very good analyst, stop yelling so much.
  2. Phil Simms . Sure, he points out the obvious 50 times, but he is what makes that Nantz/Simms combo capable of listening to. He knows his stuff, and should be on that date with Tom Brady and Peyton Manning any moment now.
  3. Solomon Wilcots. The dude is very underrated, and I wish he could work with Gus Johnson, that would be some duo wouldn't it? It's too bad he got stuck with Ian Eagle.
  4. Rich Gannon. He's somewhat decent of an analyst. But he's just a work in progress. Working with Kevin Harlan is great for him, and all of CBS.
  5. We have a tie! Dan Dierdorf, Steve Tasker. If I have to explain to you why they suck, please check in to your local mental clinic.

So CBS is finished, do you think I'm finished?! No! Monday, we'll finish everything off with the national broadcasters of football.

Seriously can you just put all of these into 1 article instead of 20 small ones.

Thanks, I think I'll do it with the National ones because it's not a tall order.

Yeah, well, at least they're trying to be rounded with everything. Sports isn't the best thing they do because they aren't known for doing sports, they're known for talking about what's going on around the world besides sports, usually...

They should stick Art Schell in the broadcast booth with Gannon for an Oakland game. Listening to Schell snore for 3 hours would be more entertaining the Gannon babbling or the Raiders fumbling on the field.

The Monday Night FB game, Bears/Colts 8/20/07, broadcast was terrible. While the game on being shown in a small screen, without narration, the commentators were interviewing Mannin, Uerlacher (Sp?) and commenting on the (getting old)Vick story. It seemed to be more of an "American Idol" format....which commentator will become richer and famous. Meanwhile football players were trying to do or keep their jobs

in the background. Would like to have seen and had some game narration, do you know if they plan on rebroadcasting that game in the near future? If so, when? As for watching future MNF I might have to pass.....get enough commentary on the stars and their after hours activities on sports talk shows do not have to get the same stuff on

game night/day! Just a terrible broadcast......8/20/07 a night to be remembered as the darkest in TV broadcast history
