NFL at Wembley Stadium

10
Vote

In 2007, an NFL regular-season game involving the Miami Dolphins, probably a nominal home match against the New York Giants will be played at Wembley Stadium in England.

It will be the first time a regular-season match has ever been held outside of North America.

A game between the Arizona Cardinals and the San Francisco 49ers was played in Mexico City in 2005.

Wembley fended off competition from Twickenham at home, but from four other cities in Germany, the homeland of NFL Europe.

If it were involved decent teams, and tickets didn't cost the inevitable £50 to get in ($100), maybe I'd go. Maybe...

Come on Alex, you could see Eli Manning impersonating Joey Harrinton in person. Wait Joey H plays for MIA. Wow, what was the NFL thinking?

Regular season game? Why not just screw the teams for good? They both better have byes right after the game or they will be screwed

The better question is, who's losing a home game?

Giants got an extra "home" game in 2005 because of Hurricane Katrina. It is only right for the Giants to lose a home game in 2007 for it. :)

I want to know if the crowd will be mostly ex-pats or whether there will be a good number of actual English people there.

I think the majority will be European, if not British.

It would have been better/ironic if New England played in "Old" England...

it would have been ironic if the Giants and Saints played a game there (as a Saints Home game of course) Oops!
