Recap Game Pick - Saints over Eagles 24-21. Actual - Saints over Eagles 27-24.
Suprise Alert - Tampa Bay over Cinci. Actual - Tampa Bay over Cinci 14-13.
Game Pick - New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys
A key game in the NFC East as Philly, NY, and Dallas all have sit with 2 losses. Both Dallas and NY will be attempting to prove their legitimacy in this tough division. A win here bolsters hopes of overtaking Philly later in the season.
Dallas has played two good teams. Jacksonville and Philly, losing by 13 and 14 points. Three solid wins over Washington, the hapless Texans, and the inexperienced Titans hardly prove those two convincing losses an aberration. Terrell Owens finally had a big game, but who doesn't against Houston. Drew Bledsoe leveled out his play against Houston as well. The offense is 4th in the league in points and 11th in points allowed, but this is largely due to their competition so far in the two blowouts. The defense has hardly been dominating against better opponents. That said, the team has lots of talent and it seems to have growing confidence with T.O. drama behind them for now.
New York has actually played a rough schedule with wins over Atlanta, Philly, and Washington and losses Seattle (12 points) and Indy (5 points). Two of their wins are over quality opponents and their losses are to quality opponents by relatively small margins. Eli Manning has been better than last year, but erratic at times. Osi Umenyiora already has four sacks and the defensive front is producing some pressure, which is the key against Bledsoe. The defense at 21st in the league in scoring has been dissapointing but has had a tough job with good O's.
Expect the Giants' experience to pay off as they get a big division road win. Giants 27 - Dallas 14.
Surprise Alert - New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills
New England beat the Bills by only 2 points at home to start the season. Since then, they have wins over the dolphins, the jets, and an overrated bengals team. Their sole loss is to Denver. Coming off the bye might spell v-i-c-t-o-r-y, but its not automatic. Their offense can be hit or miss with their WR losses in the off-season, Tom Brady needs more options and needs to develop rythym. Their defense has failed to produce as many turnovers as in the past.
Buffalo, baring the Chicago beatdown, has lost three games by a total of 13 points. Their two wins aren't too impressive, but they play a style of ball that keeps games close with an underrated defense. If they can force a few turnovers and keep the crowd in the game, they could pull it off.
