NFL Releases Statement on Michael Vick

Here is the NFL's statement on the Michael Vick indictment, in its entirety:

"We are disappointed that Michael Vick has put himself in a position where a federal grand jury has returned an indictment against him. We will continue to closely monitor developments in this case, and to cooperate with law enforcement authorities. The activities alleged are cruel, degrading and illegal. Michael Vick's guilt has not yet been proven, and we believe that all concerned should allow the legal process to determine the facts. The matter will be reviewed under the League's Personal Conduct Policy."

It sounds to me like we should not expect an immediate suspension from the commissioner. The question to me is what, if anything, the Falcons will do. At the least, the indictment and investigation will be an enormous distraction to Vick and the team.

Translation - Vick sold us a bill of goods. Since we have marketed him as the second coming, we were stuck and believed him. Now, it is time for us to cover our butts. When Vick pleads this out and gets probation, he will be suspended and fined. However, we cannot do anything until then, or we face legal action from Vick.
