NFL MVP Nominations

19
Vote

by Jamel

Prediction time my friends--- what if, what if, what if, what if, let's pretend and let's start making ridiculous statements on who and why this years MVP will be.........................

Obvious choices

1) Tom Brady-- safest choice- (unfortunately) when NE wins the superbowl he's the obvious choice

2) Randy Moss-- some say he's more valuable than T.B. - he's the reason Brady looks so good- from a blogger on a different site- whitejordan32 from yardbarker---"Uhhh...didn't he help the Vikings set the scoring record as a rookie with an over the hill Randall Cunningham. How has Daunte Culpepper done without Moss? Moss makes bad QBs look very good and great QBs look unreal. After this year, Moss will be on the top 2 scoring teams in NFL history. Think its a coincidence? It's not. And for those who say he is selfish, he took a 6 million dollar paycut. Thats not very selfish to me. It doesn't take a great QB to lob a ball 50 yards to Moss. Look at the 2 on the Dolphins and about 7 more and tell me any other WR in the NFL woulda caught those"

3) Brett Favre-- what if the Packers can beat the Cowboys and be in the superbowl?? Even if Green Bay loses but still play great does this warrant a MVP for Favre? Plus this is sort of a comeback story that we all love.... perhaps his last year? perhaps his last opportunity to be MVP- if somehow they win the superbowl is it a lock?

4) Tony Romo- if Dallas is in the superbowl-- same reason as Brett Favre-- even if they lose does he deserve it against Tom Brady? What if they win- is that a lock for the MVP?

See let's start reading some opinions here

I'm going with the QB of the team who wins the superbowl..... but........ and it's a big butt (ha ha ha) if Green Bay is in the superbowl and it's a really close game and Brett plays good I think he'll get it-

Even though I am a Packer Backer..I have to say Moss is my vote for MVP. Brady looks great because of what a great receiver Moss is. I can't believe I said that Moss is a great receiver...

It's hard to imagine sayin that isn't it- that's why I had to include that quote-- still I don't think Brady should have his ass crowned But also let's do the what if game-

I think it's Moss also. Basically for the same reasons in the article.

I have a very hard time considering any wideout ever for MVP simply because a WR's success is souly based on what the QB does.

I think in this instance you can make a case for the opposite.

Is it really Moss that is making Brady this good? Or is it Brady that is pulling the strings. Brady still found the endzone plenty last night and only got it to Moss once

But you also have to consider the affect Moss has on the opposing teams coverage schemes. with Moss double covered, that leaves the opportunity for other receivers to be in single coverage, possibly by a line backer. The way I see it, Moss has had seasons like this before, and Brady hasn't.

Brady, Moss, Favre, Romo, P. Manning. How about A. Peterson?

Not that I think he deserves it (I'd vote Moss), what about Adrian Peterson from MN? I'm willing to bet he would have come close to 2000 yards if he was able to stay healthy, and the Vikings are a significantly better team with AP then without him

There should be two awards: Most Valuable & Best Player.

And no, these terms are NOT synonymous.

Most Valuable? To his team? I think that belongs to Brett Favre.

Best Player? In the league? Heads - Tom Brady. Tails - Randy Moss (I lean towards Moss).

The problem is Brady is the one thrwing the ball to Moss. Granted Moss still has to make those spectacular catches and break tackles for touchdowns witch he does every game it seems like.

I think Wes Welker is more valuable to Brady than Moss is. Moss has the yards and TD's, Welker has the receptions. Also, there is no category for "clutch catches", but I would say Welker would be leading there too. Given that, I think it is hard to say Brady is not the MVP. 41 TD's. 4 games to get 9 more TD's to break that record. I would expect he would be able to get 3 vs. the Jets (before the half), and 3 vs the fins (before the half). Even if he sits some during the jets and fins game, he is truely the MVP this year.

I think Brady is going to get all of the recognition with all of the touchdown passes he has, and that QB rating just won't go away. I think it WILL be him, although I, myself, would have a different opinion. I'm actually not sure who I'd pick.

Come on...

Its Brady...

This is so simple...take away brady from moss and what do you get...Oakland Raiders Randy Moss...take Moss away from Brady...

3 super bowl rings...

Sure Brady wouldn't have quite the numbers, but a Welker, Stallworth, Gaffney, Washington corps is pretty damn good in and of itself...
