Myril Hoag (Myrill Oliver Hoag) was born on March 9, 1908 in Davis, California. He made his Major League debut on April 15, 1931 for the New York Yankees. In 1934, his rookie year, he hit .267 with 3 home runs and 34 RBI. Hoag played for the New York Yankees, St. Louis Browns, Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 13 year career.

Most people believe that Myril Hoag's best season was 1939, when he hit for a .295 average and knocked in 75 runs.
