Mush Crawford (Walter Charles Crawford) was born on December 23, 1898 in Waukegan, Illinois. After going to high school at Newport (Waukegan, IL), Crawford attended Beloit College, Lake Forest College and the University of Illinois. Crawford made his professional debut in the NFL in 1925 with the Chicago Bears. He played in the NFL for 2 years, playing for the New York Yankees and Chicago Bears over the course of his 2 year NFL career.Crawford also played in the AFLG for 1 year, playing for the Chicago Bulls the entire time.
