[edit] Biography

Born on August 21, 1916 in Tracy, Missouri, Murry Dickson (Murry Monroe Dickson) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Yankees and Kansas City Athletics over the course of his 18 year career. Dickson broke into the bigs on September 30, 1939 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 2.91 ERA in 120.2 innings pitched in 1942, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Murry Dickson's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1951, when he posted a 4.02 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 112 batters. However, others believe that it was 1946, when he posted a 2.88 ERA, won 15 games and struck out 82 batters.
