Mule Haas (George William Haas) was born on October 15, 1903 in Montclair, New Jersey. He made his Major League debut on August 15, 1925 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1928, his rookie year, he hit .280 with 6 home runs and 39 RBI. Haas played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia Athletics and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 12 year career.

Most people believe that Mule Haas's best season was 1929, when he slugged 16 home runs, hit for a .313 average and knocked in 82 runs.
