Muddy Ruel

Muddy Ruel (Herold Dominic Ruel) was born on February 20, 1896 in St. Louis, Missouri. He made his Major League debut on May 29, 1915 for the St. Louis Browns. In 1919, his rookie year, he hit .240 with 0 home runs and 31 RBI. Ruel played for the St. Louis Browns, New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Washington Senators, Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 19 year career.
There is some disagreement on what was Muddy Ruel's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1923, when he hit for a .316 average and knocked in 54 runs. However, others believe that it was 1927, when he hit for a .308 average and knocked in 52 runs.
