Had an argument with a friend last night about who was the most recognizable athlete in different sports. Place this person ANYWHERE in the world and even a french Canadian would say "La merde sainte je juste crapped mes pantalon, cela baise. .... Anna Kournikova"

Easy ones where:

Golf: Tiger Woods

Basketball: Michael Jordan

Football: now a days we thought Peyton Manning

Boxing: Ali, Tyson

Soccer: Beckham

Wrestling: Hulk Hogan

Swimming: Pamela Anderson

Baseball??????????

We couldn't agree on anyone. I thought perhaps Jeter or Gay-Rod but I'm not so sure that if you placed them in butt--uck somewhere they would automatically get recognized. Bonds?

I don't know- I guess what I am looking for is the MOST recognizable ALIVE football player out there right now. I think Manning is more recognizable right now than Brady. What about Dan Marino? I hate the guy but I think people know who he is

Isn't that a shame?! Yeah sorry I'm looking for alive and currently. Ruth was the obvious answer when we were talking but we couldn't agree on someone currently. What about McGwire? Again hate that guy but I think people all over might recognize him.

Yeah, I know it's a shame. I think Bonds is known more than McGwire, cuz firstly, McGwire retired, and he retired early. Even though he broke a 37 year old record, Bonds is closer to breaking an all time record, plus he has the record for almost every single offensive category...

I think Zidane is more famous than Beckham is. We'll see in a couple of years if Beckham makes big news in the US. If he does, people from the US will think of him as more famous than Zidane, but for now, I'm going with Zidane..
