Mookie Wilson (William Hayward Wilson) was born on February 9, 1956 in Bamberg, South Carolina. He made his Major League debut on September 2, 1980 for the New York Mets. In 1981, his rookie year, he hit .271 with 3 home runs and 14 RBI. Wilson played for the New York Mets and Toronto Blue Jays over the course of his 12 year career.

Most people believe that Mookie Wilson's best season was 1982, when he stole 58 bases, hit for a .279 average and knocked in 55 runs.
