Monty Stickles (Montford Anthony Stickles) was born on August 16, 1938 in Kingston, New York. After going to high school at Poughkeepsie (NY), Stickles attended the University of Notre Dame. Stickles made his professional debut in the NFL in 1960 with the San Francisco 49ers. He played for the San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints over the course of his 9 year career.

Most people believe that 1961 was Monty Stickles's best year, as he hauled in 43 receptions, had 794 receiving yards and caught 5 TD passes.
