Moe Burtschy

Born on April 18, 1922 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Moe Burtschy (Edward Frank Burtschy) played for the Philadelphia Athletics and Kansas City Athletics over the course of his 5 year career. Burtschy broke into the bigs on June 17, 1950 with the Philadelphia Athletics, and put up a 3.80 ERA in 94.2 innings pitched in 1954, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Moe Burtschy's best season was 1954, when he posted a 3.80 ERA and struck out 54 batters.
