Mitchell Sell Out - Players Don't Get Touched

by Mlnsports

Mitchell is recommending that no one get tagged for this, largely because it knocks out dozens of players and puts millions into the legal bills of baseball, miring the game. He's giving Bud Light the ability to pick and choose who he nails. That means some poor schmuck on the Daytona Cubs gets bounced out of the game while Giambi keeps on playing. What a joke. The words "To maintain the integrity of the game" should stick in his throat. If you can't eject all of them, then eject Bud and get someone in there who can clean up house.

He says that many are out of the game. Good. Ban them from the Hall of Fame. Recommend to the BWAA that they do so. "This is a serious problem that cannot be solved by anything less than a well executed plan by everyone in baseball."

He quotes Northern Ireland. They had an advantage. They only hated each other over religion. The MLBPA and MLB have been slugging it out over money and power. That's a much tougher place to make change happen.

Mitchell says that these guys broke the law and the rules of the game, and nothing is going to happen to them, even though "they are responsible for their actions."

Now he's tagging all of the front office people. Good.

Unfortunately there will be an official whitewash department, and no one, unless the fans and the media cry out loudly, will be accountable.

Of course we know that there has been steroid and HGH use in baseball (and football too, sshhsshh!! quiet!!). But you have to wonder about this report, basically no trial or chance for rebuttal by the accused. It is built on testimony by "minor league" drug dealers who will certainly profit now when they write their own books, do the talk show circuit etc.

It's certainly not infallable, but to say there was no chance for rebuttal is inaccurate - Mitchell says he contacted every player he mentioned, and that most of them did not respond.

So if they responded they weren't in the report? Apparently they still are. And are they being segregated from those who didn't respond in any way? Not in any news report I have seen. So it seems there was no benefit in responding.
